Where I’m From

I am from PlayStation from sneakers, and clothes. I am from the Peach state from the ops grasslands to the smoggy city of ATL. I am from the tree in the middle of my backyard, to the free range animals on the Great Plain. I am from my mom’s Pilau rice and the creamy chicken and Dumpling. I am from going to church every Sunday and gathering together for Christmas dinner with Paul, Mollian, and Jimmy. I am from going to Church on every Easter. I’m from Kenya, ugali and Sukuma. From the 2 day tireless plane ride from Kenya, from apartments to houses, chubby to husky. I am from living with 2 family relatives, to our own apartment where blood sweat, and tears were sacrificed to get where we are today, lushes green grass in the front and a vegetation yard in the back. Enough space to move breath and grow until it’s my turn to face life. Yes this is home. And I am those memories I shall cherish until the end of my story.
